Build Quality Backlinks: Authority Sites

Build Quality Backlinks on Authority Blogs

Back-link Background

The truth is, targeted keywords are necessary for your blogs search engine results, but the affects on your rankings are not a strong has we all would hope.  In order for the search engines to absolutely love your blog, you need quality back-links.

As a general rule of thumb, the more links to your blog, the more the search engines think you are an authority in that particular niche and hence the higher they rank you. However, you have take care to observe the quality of the links. For example, a thousand links from irrelevant sites like will not gain your blog more interest as far as the search engines go.  You need back-links on relevant sites and even more effective, back-links on authority sites of the same niche.

Pointers on Getting Authoritative Back-links

There are many ways to go about getting back-links on authoritative blogs.  The most cost effective way of getting high quality links from authoritative sites is simply to ask for it. If your blog contains high quality content that is original and will provide valuable information to the site’s readers, chances are the webmaster(s) will link to your blog or even write about you!

Let’s talk about how we should ask these webmasters of authority to link to your blog. We’re discussing this based on the presumption that your blog is really content rich and offer high quality information to anyone in your niche or topic of discussion. The most viable option would be to send an email directly to the webmaster.

First, let’s look for the top sites in your niche. Simply search the major search engines for the term that you’re targeting. Let’s go through an example.  Say you search for, building quality backlinks.  We’re looking for community-based sites and other blogs that are more accessible to a complete newcomer like you.  So maybe try webconfs.com or marketingblogtools.com.  Now just simply write them an email praising their site and suggest reasons why both of you could benefit from the back-link.  Some will be nice, and some will not.  Either way, back-links on just a couple authority sites can make the difference in having a popular blog or one that is virtually non-existent.

You can also get back-links from authority blogs easily if they allow comments on their posts.  In this case, you would join their blog, find a post and add a comment worth reading.  Make sure the comment and the destination of the back-link add value.  In most cases the webmaster (owner of the blog) will check the comment and also the link.  If either is insufficient then it will never be publicized.

It is somewhat of a challenge to gain back links on an authority site and can involve a lot of time and effort searching and choosing.  Either way, the benefits far exceed the work.  You can also find more free blog tips on building quality back-links at MaxBlogMoney.com, where we look out for you blogging needs.  Good luck on building your quality back links and happy blogging.

The Best Blog Template For Monetization

Today was a productive day in my research for a WordPress blog template that is perfect for search engine optimization and blog monetization. For about a month I have been trying to find the perfect template for TheMarketingSpartan.com blog. I did find clean looking blogs and some that claimed to be perfect for optimization, but they just weren’t my cup of tea.

As my search continued, I decided maybe I should try and go into the blog HTML within each template section (sidebar.php, header.php, and so forth) and try to customize the blog myself. I’m not going to lie, it took loads of time. I would change code and it not be compatible with the Theme I was using, or change a theme to fit code and it not be compatible.

Another problem I ran into was the widgets and plugins I wanted to use for each blog. Once my HTML code “dumbness” was cured by trial and error. Widget and plugin placement became my next issue to tackle. Luckily my recent run-in with HTML code made the process go a little smoother.

The conclusion is, if you want to optimize a blog for profits, use a template that has a TWO column side bar just like this one.  Once you learn how to insert the code and move around desired widgets, it really goes from a science to a simplicity. I knew how to optimize a blog with simple plug-ins and Search Engine Optimization, but now I know how to optimize them for profits…pretty awesome I’d say. The next step is looking for some good affiliate programs.
